Why this response received Band 7.0
The response selects all three food categories, supports their contrasting movements with relevant figures, and remains easy to follow. The principal weakness is imprecise language in phrases such as "grew up gradually" and "decreased to related figure," alongside the inaccurate description of 1995-2010 as ten years. Prioritise more natural trend expressions and check time spans carefully.
IELTS Writing Criteria Scores
Task Achievement
The report identifies the main contrasts and gives accurate supporting values, with only a minor error in the stated length of the final period.
Check the duration of each interval and make the overview explicitly summarise the rise in meat and fish alongside the fall in salt.
Coherence and Cohesion
The response moves logically from starting values to subsequent trends and finishes with a relevant comparison, using clear paragraphing.
Separate the three trend descriptions more evenly to avoid concentrating most of the detail in one long paragraph.
Lexical Resource
There is a useful range of vocabulary for change and comparison, but several collocations are unnatural or imprecise.
Replace expressions such as "grew up" and "decreased to related figure" with standard data-description phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
The writer uses varied sentence forms and subordination successfully, though article, preposition, and noun-phrase errors recur.
Review articles and time expressions, particularly phrases such as "in the rest 10 years," for more consistent accuracy.
