Overall assessment

Why this response received Band 7.0

The response presents a clear overview and organises the categories effectively, with accurate figures and well-chosen comparisons for food, clothing, and the main leisure values. The main limitation is incomplete coverage of leisure and education, where three countries are omitted, alongside several awkward collocations. Add the missing comparative pattern for that category and choose more natural verbs for spending data.

Task Achievement

7.0
Scoring rule

The overview identifies the dominant and smallest categories, and the reported figures are accurate, but the leisure and education comparison omits Ireland, Italy, and Sweden.

Next step

Complete the final category by showing that Turkey leads, Sweden and Italy are close, Ireland is lower, and Spain is lowest.

CC

Coherence and Cohesion

7.0
Scoring rule

Information is divided logically by spending category, and comparisons progress clearly within the first two detail paragraphs.

Next step

Order every category consistently from highest to lowest so the final paragraph develops as fully as the others.

LR

Lexical Resource

6.5
Scoring rule

Vocabulary is sufficiently varied for comparison, but choices such as "witnessed", "genre", and "invested" are unnatural for expenditure data.

Next step

Prefer precise spending verbs such as "accounted for", "allocated", and "spent" without forcing unnecessary variation.

GRA

Grammatical Range and Accuracy

7.0
Scoring rule

A range of complex comparative structures is mostly accurate, although isolated construction errors reduce polish.

Next step

Proofread preposition sequences and repair malformed phrases such as "4.35% of in this category" before finalising.
