In some countries, celebrities complain about the way the media publicize their private lives. Some people say that they should accept it as part of their fame. Do you agree or disagree?
Sample Response
Celebrities in some countries often express dissatisfaction with the media’s invasion of their privacy. While some argue that such intrusion is an inevitable byproduct of fame and status, I am inclined to disagree, as public figures deserve to have their private lives respected regardless of their stature.
There are several reasons to believe that celebrities need to accept their privacy being sacrificed as a consequence of their fame. Firstly, as these famous people willingly choose the limelight, they have understood that media scrutiny will happen. This may happen in the form of photographers for tabloid newspapers snapping pictures of them doing grocery shopping, or the TV pundits dissecting every remark made by a politician at a campaign rally. Moreover, it is claimed that the public has the right to know about the lives of celebrities, as these figures' personal choices can affect society. If a famous person behaves improperly, media attention would allow the public to admonish such actions, causing said celebrity to change their behavior and improve their influence in the community.
Nevertheless, the right to privacy should apply to everyone, including those who are considered famous. Media focus on private matters, for instance, can distract the masses from celebrities’ professional accomplishments. As a result, this would shift public attention away from their talent, and subject them to disrespect. Maradona, for example, was regarded as one of the greatest footballers in the world, but later in his life, stories about his personal vices and relationships with dubious figures have caused people to gradually forget his contributions to the sport. Furthermore, constant intrusion by the media can have detrimental effects on celebrities' well-being. Intense scrutiny may make public figures suffer relentless judgment and criticism, which would exacerbate their mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression.
In conclusion, while celebrities may expect some level of public attention, they should not have to accept sacrificing their privacy. The media, in my opinion, must balance its coverage to respect personal boundaries while focusing on celebrities' professional contributions.

Why this response received Band 8.0
The response presents a clear, consistent position and develops both the opposing case and the case for privacy with relevant explanation and examples. Its main limitation is occasional imprecision in claims and phrasing, particularly where media coverage is linked to lost respect or improved influence; sharpening those causal links and choosing more exact collocations would make an already well-organised argument more convincing.
