Some people prefer to spend their lives doing the same things and avoiding change. Others, however, think that change is always good. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Sample Response

Change is the law of nature, and adaption to those changes is necessary. Few people tend to follow their routine life avoiding any change; however, others prefer to live a versatile life. I prefer to have a life with variations. This essay shall delve into both prospects of people’s life.

People prefer comfortable life and do not want to have changes, which may disturb their routine life. In other words, they do not want to take the risk and keep their life going as it is. This, however, impact people’s growth potential and will limit their learning. Also, this approach will make people less adaptable to any unforeseen situation in life. This, in general, makes the sluggish people impact their health as well and make them weak comparatively.

On the other hand, Some people prefer to have a variety in life. These types of people are energetic and can not follow the same routine of their life always. This is the inherent behaviour that enables them to take more risks. These people have a higher probability of growth and learning because of their risk-taking capability. Their adaptability to any type of natural change is also excellent. These types of people are always on edge, which makes them healthy and strong.

To conclude, Today’sToday’s era is very dynamic, where situations are changing more rapidly, and one shall be ready to accept those changes. I am a person who loves to have changes in life at a regular interval. This keeps me in attention at all times.

Overall assessment

Why this response received Band 6.0

The response has a clear preference for change and a straightforward four-paragraph structure that makes both perspectives easy to identify. However, its claims are often generalised or insufficiently supported, and frequent awkward collocations and grammatical slips reduce precision; the main priority is to develop each view with a specific, credible example while revising sentence structures and word choices for accuracy.

TR

Task Response

6.0
Scoring rule

Both views are addressed and the writer's opinion is clear, although the supporting claims are broad, sometimes questionable, and only moderately developed.

Next step

Support each perspective with a specific example and explain more carefully why routine or change produces the claimed outcomes.

CC

Coherence and Cohesion

6.0
Scoring rule

The paragraph sequence is logical and basic linking is clear, though cohesion is sometimes mechanical and some sentences connect ideas imprecisely.

Next step

Use referencing and transitions more selectively so each sentence develops the paragraph's central idea rather than simply adding another claim.

Lexical Resource

5.5
Scoring rule

There is enough vocabulary to discuss risk, growth, and adaptability, but frequent inaccurate collocations and word choices weaken precision.

Next step

Replace awkward expressions such as 'prospects of people's life', 'sluggish people', and 'in attention' with natural context-appropriate wording.

GRA

Grammatical Range and Accuracy

5.5
Scoring rule

A mix of simple and complex structures communicates the main meaning, but agreement, article, word-form, and sentence-construction errors recur.

Next step

Prioritise subject-verb agreement and complete clause structures, then proofread each sentence for articles, plurals, and capitalisation.
