The consumption of the world’s resources is increasing at a dangerous rate. What are causes and solutions?

Sample Response

The ripping off of the world’s natural resources is an intense and severe issue and these assets are getting depleted really fast. There are certain causes and possible solutions to palliate them. This essay shall discuss them in the paragraphs to come.

The first splenetic cause of the depletion of our natural resources is the over increasing population of the world that has added to a gigantic onus on the world exceeding the natural resources’ carrying capacity. The providential and profligate spending and overuse by the people have been the most significant acerbic cause to the existence and survival of the natural assets of our world. Another cause to this is over ambitions of so-called development goals of the countries where there has been its thriftless disbursement for the sake of urbanization of the remote regions and the industrialization of the towns and cities. Over that, the lack of knowledge of the dire consequences of such unstinted and injudicious practices have only exacerbated the fate of our world when it comes to the riches and wealth of its natural oblation.

Solutions to such appalling conditions would be to first keep a check on the proliferation of population and the proper channelling of the existing ones to productive causes. For instance, they should be encouraged to plant more trees in order to replenish the receding greenery causing various detrimental effects. Moreover, the government and the concerned environmental authorities should as well work for the acknowledgement and awareness programs for letting them know the ramifications of the prevalent losses in the purview of the denuding resources of the globe. Moreover, the stringent regulations by the countries should be framed and implemented to mitigate the casual and lackadaisical approaches of the citizens towards the environment.

In conclusion, it could be said that the defoliation of our nature and its subsets are being stripped off at an alarming rate. However, it could be halted with the correct rectifying measures.

Overall assessment

Why this response received Band 6.5

The response addresses both causes and solutions in a clear overall structure, with population growth, overconsumption, awareness, and regulation all relevant to the topic. Its main limitation is that several points remain vague or only loosely explained, while conspicuously inappropriate vocabulary frequently reduces precision. The highest priority is to develop fewer cause-solution links more concretely and express them with natural, accurately chosen words.
