To provide structure and promote safety, regulations and laws are in place in every country. Although legislation cannot solve each and every problem that may arise in a society, I strongly agree that a society in which individuals were free to behave entirely as they wished would be unlikely to function effectively. This is particularly evident in the areas of economic activity and public safety.

2

First, without rules in the economic domainfield, businesses may go to extreme lengths to maximize profits. Shops and restaurants failing to meet certain standards might emergemay appear. Markets could become flooded with low-quality goods, substandard services and unsafe food products, which directly threaten the consumers' interestsinterests of the customers. Unfair competition could also become widespread. For example, dominant companies could manipulate prices or engage in anti-competitive practices, leaving consumers vulnerable to exploitation. At an international level, economic cooperation would also be difficult without reliable treaties and legally enforceable contracts.

3

Another concern relates to public safetypotential problem is safety issues. If there were no traffic rules, the streets would become chaotic: driversDrivers could speed or engage in drunk driving without being fined; they could park wherever they wished; as a result, wished as a result, pedestrians’ lives would be at risk. Police would be overwhelmed with frequent accidents, and daily travelaccidents, daily travel could become both dangerous and highly inefficient. Beyond road safety,Similarly, without criminal laws and effective law enforcement, crimes such as theft, robbery and smuggling could proliferateoffences such as theft, robbery and smuggling could become more widespread, undermining public safety and social stability.

4

Nevertheless, society cannot rely on formal rules and law enforcement alone to maintain order. Ethical awareness and individual judgement are equally important, because excessive reliance on official intervention can place unnecessary pressure on public services. For instance, if a minor traffic accident can be settled amicably between the two parties involved, insisting on police intervention may unnecessarily block traffic and consume public resources. Citizens should therefore be given a reasonable degree of freedom to exercise their own judgement, provided that their actions do not harm others or violate fundamental laws.

5

In conclusion, although laws cannot regulate every aspect of human behaviour and should be accompanied by personal responsibility and ethical judgement, they remain essential to a functioning society. They establish clear boundaries for acceptable behaviour, protect individuals from harm and provide the stability necessary for both economic prosperity and public safety.
