The noise levels have impacted the quality of our life, what are the causes of this problem and what should be done to solve it.
Sample Response
The environment today is threatened by many factors such as air pollution, noise pollution and so on. However, the most concerning among them is noise pollutionamong them most concerning is the noise pollution. In this essay, we will discuss how population growth and technologicaltechnology advances have affected this issue. To tackle this, the government can play athe major role by setting rules and regulations in the country.
To begin with, there are various reasons for the increase in noise pollutionincrease in the noise pollution. One main cause is the ever-increasing population of the world which leads to the excessive useusage of vehicles for travelling. This results in traffic congestionthe traffic congestion and thereby forcesthereby, forces individuals to use their hornsutilise honking system, which adds to the noise. Besides thisthese, with the advances in technologyadvances in the technology, many new systems have been developedmany new systems are developed and excessive useusage of these systems can increase the noise levels. Sound systems, loudspeakers and random seminars on roads are some other reasons which are increasing the noise pollution.
In order to minimise the problem of noise pollutionproblem related to the noise, certain measures can be taken by the elected authority. First of all, they can concentrate on improving public transportation in such a way that it will reduce the usereduce down the usage of private cars and more peoplemore number of people will start relying on public transit. In addition to this, usage of noise reduction systems should be required of companiesenforced to companies involved in the production of new products. Thus, the government can makeput efforts to reduce noise pollution for upgrading the standard of society. Apart from the government’s involvement in solving this urgent issue, the awareness among manymuch people must be increased. They should know the harmfulness and long terms effects of increased noise level and they should spontaneously volunteer to reduce this level.
Thus, it is clear that increase in the usage of cars and various modern systems have contributed to the increase in the sound levels. It is hoped that the relevant authoritieslegal entity will educate the society about the harms caused by noise pollution and ways to avoid this.
Why this response received Band 6.5
The response addresses both causes and solutions and follows a clear problem-solution structure, with relevant points about traffic, technology, public transport, regulation, and awareness. Its main limitation is that several ideas remain vague, especially the references to modern systems and industrial noise controls, while frequent awkward phrasing reduces precision. The highest-priority improvement is to explain each proposal more concretely and use more accurate collocations.
IELTS Writing Criteria Scores
Task Response
Both parts of the task are addressed with relevant causes and solutions, although several points are only generally explained.
Show exactly how each proposed measure would reduce a named source of noise and add a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion
The problem-solution organisation is clear and progression is easy to follow, but some linking is mechanical or imprecise.
Use referencing more accurately and connect each solution directly to the corresponding cause.
Lexical Resource
The response shows adequate topic vocabulary, but frequent collocational problems make several expressions sound unnatural or vague.
Learn precise combinations such as technological advances, vehicle use, raise awareness, and long-term effects.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
A mix of simple and complex sentences communicates the meaning, but article, agreement, quantity, and word-form errors recur.
Proofread systematically for articles, subject-verb agreement, countable nouns, and adjective forms before finalising the response.
