Parents play an important role for every kid and it is believed by some people that parents are good teachers. Whereas others convey that teachers and elders are best mentors. However, I believe that at initial stage parents are ever best teachers for following reasons.
On top of this statement, both father and mother are the best teachers from childhood till teenage. In most of the cases, this teaching and learning extend to old age. Subsequently, no matter how old children grow, they are still loved by the parents. Dad and mum nourish their kids towards good attitudes, education, discipline and social responsibility so that they become role models for their nation. Moreover, children are the future architect of a prosperous country. Both father and mother are key players in the etiquette of good and bad qualities to their beloved ones. They should guide how to respect elders, relatives and friends etc. with this they must lay an excellent foundation in perspective of education.
On other hand, parents should not forcibly apply their ideas and a thought on children to choose their career option to prosper in the area of interest freedom is important fact here. Both dad and mum should mentor and support morally in terms of finance and other aspects which are mandatory to loved ones. Meanwhile, children should not take advantage of love and affection and must be trustworthy to their parents and should not cheat. Children are responsible for fulfilling parent’s dreams.
Finally, my conclusion on above statement is parents are good path creators of their children. It depends upon relationship and understanding of both.
IELTS Writing Correction
- 1. Fix the collocation Original: role for every kid Suggested revision: role in every child's life Why it matters: Someone plays a role “in” a person's life, not a role “for” that person.
- 2. Fix the fragment Original: Whereas Suggested revision: By contrast, Why it matters: “Whereas” creates a dependent clause here, while the replacement forms a complete contrasting sentence.
- 3. Use a reporting verb Original: convey Suggested revision: argue Why it matters: “Argue” naturally introduces a stated position, whereas “convey” is not used this way.
- 4. Add the article Original: at initial stage Suggested revision: at an early stage Why it matters: A singular countable stage requires an article, and “early” expresses the intended timing naturally.
- 5. Remove incorrect intensifier Original: ever Suggested revision: the Why it matters: “Ever” cannot modify the superlative in this construction.
- 6. Add the article Original: for following reasons Suggested revision: for the following reasons Why it matters: The definite article is required before “following reasons.”
- 7. Use a logical opener Original: On top of this statement Suggested revision: To begin with Why it matters: This is the first supporting point, so an additive linker does not accurately show its role.
- 8. Use natural age terms Original: from childhood till teenage Suggested revision: from childhood through adolescence Why it matters: “Adolescence” is the natural noun for the life stage, and “through” clearly marks the range.
- 9. Remove unnecessary article Original: In most of the cases Suggested revision: In most cases Why it matters: The general expression is “in most cases” without “the.”
- 10. Match subject and verb Original: extend Suggested revision: extends Why it matters: The combined process identified by singular “this” takes the singular verb “extends.”
- 11. Choose an accurate verb Original: nourish their kids towards good attitudes, education, discipline and social responsibility Suggested revision: guide their children towards positive attitudes, education, discipline and social responsibility Why it matters: “Guide” accurately describes parents shaping these qualities, while “nourish towards” is not a valid collocation.
- 12. Use plural agreement Original: architect Suggested revision: architects Why it matters: The plural subject “children” requires the plural complement “architects.”

Why this response received Band 5.5
The response gives a clear preference for parents and offers several relevant ways they influence children, while basic paragraphing makes the overall direction visible. However, much of the discussion shifts from why parents are the best teachers to general duties of parents and children, and frequent awkward or incomplete constructions weaken clarity. The highest priority is to develop direct comparisons with school teachers through specific, relevant examples and carefully controlled sentences.
IELTS Writing Criteria Scores
Task Response
The preferred teacher is identified, but support is only partly developed and several points about careers, trust, and fulfilling parents' dreams drift from the central question.
Build two focused reasons why parents teach more important lessons than school teachers, and illustrate each with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion
Paragraphing provides a basic progression, but several connectors are inaccurate and ideas within paragraphs are loosely linked or abruptly introduced.
Use clear topic sentences and arrange each paragraph as one claim followed by explanation, comparison, and example.
Lexical Resource
The response attempts a reasonable range of vocabulary, but frequent inaccurate collocations and word choices make several ideas sound unnatural or unclear.
Use simpler, accurate expressions such as "instil values," "guide career choices," and "provide moral and financial support."
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
Some complex structures are attempted, but frequent missing articles, fragments, agreement errors, and run-on sentences reduce control and occasionally strain comprehension.
Write shorter complete sentences first, then check each for a subject, finite verb, articles, agreement, and correct punctuation.
