Why this response received Band 6.5
The response has a clear discussion structure, covers both sides, and supports most points with explanation and examples. The main weakness is precision: several disadvantage claims are weakly reasoned, while awkward collocations and recurring agreement or sentence-structure errors reduce clarity. The highest-priority improvement is to formulate each main claim more logically and express it in cleaner, more natural sentences before adding supporting examples.
IELTS Writing Criteria Scores
Task Response
Both advantages and disadvantages are addressed with a clear position and supporting examples, though some disadvantage reasoning is not fully convincing.
Explain more precisely why compulsory uniform design or sizing creates practical problems, rather than attributing them to employees' lack of knowledge.
Coherence and Cohesion
The response is logically organized into focused paragraphs, although some long sentences and mechanical linking disrupt the flow.
Separate multi-step explanations into cleaner sentences and use referencing to connect claims and consequences more naturally.
Lexical Resource
Vocabulary is adequate and includes some less common items, but awkward collocations and imprecise choices occur repeatedly.
Use natural combinations such as "promote the brand," "foster belonging," and "restrict movement and performance."
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
The response uses a mix of sentence forms, but recurring agreement, clause-structure, and punctuation errors reduce accuracy.
Check agreement and sentence boundaries, especially when linking several clauses with "because," "when," and "as a result."
