The bar chart compares the number of visits per monthmonthly visits to a community website during its first and second years of operation. Overall, the website recorded substantially more visitswebsite attracted substantially more visitors in its second year than in the first in almost every month, with August being the only exception. In both years, visit countsvisitor numbers declined in the middle of the period before rising considerably towards the summer. In the first year, visits increased from 2,000about 2,000 in September to 10,000 in both November and December. The figure then fell sharply, reaching a low of 1,000around 1,000 in February and March. From April onwards, however, it recovered steadily, climbing to just under 15,000approximately 14,500 in August. A similar but more pronounced pattern can be seen in the second year. Visits rose from 3,500roughly 3,500 in September to 17,000 in November and December, before dropping to 10,000 in February and March. They subsequently increased rapidly, peaking at 22,500about 22,500 in June and July, before falling sharply to around 12,500 in August.
