Overall, China recorded the most significant increase over the period, whereas Canada and Germany experienced a gradual decline after reaching a pick. Meanwhile, India showed an overall upward trend despite slight decreases towards the end.
In 2019, the sales of electric cars in Germany rose by just over 6%, which was by far the highest value in that year. over the 4-year period, the percentage growth decreased to exactly 2% in final year. Canada also started with 5%, and this figure recrded the highest decline to 1% between 2019 and 2023.
On the other hand, Chine had the lowest value in 2019 with only 2% but that number rose steadily to reach nearly 9% in 2023, representing the highest value for that year. the increase in the sales of electric cars in India fluctuated over the period, starting off with just over 3% in first year, peaking in 2021 at nearly 7%, then dropping to just over 4% in 2023.
