While the percentage of female parliamentarians in Belgium rose sharply, the other four countries saw more gradual growth. In Germany, the proportion of female parliamentarians stood at 33% in 2000, and this figure grew to 37% in 2012. From 2000 to 20082010, Italy’s percentage of female parliamentarians was lower than Germany’s, rising from 27% to 33% in 2008.rising from 27% to 36%. Between 2008 and 2012,After 2010, Italy overtook Germany, with its proportion reaching almost 40%. France also saw an upward trend, from 25% in 2000 to 32% in 2012.
