In contrast, others believe that selling souvenirs isare only a waysource to save such traditions. FromIn my perspective, cultural traditions can be perpetuated by displaying handcraft, ornaments and to name but a few to foreign visitors; otherwise, visitors will not take an interest in these traditions.
At the outset, there are myriad places thatwhere tourists visit, and if souvenirs are sold to earn money, this will give visitors a false impressionit will have a false impression on the visitors, and instead of appreciating local art or other craftscraftworks, they will purchase the souvenirs from that placetokens of that place. They will not share informationdisseminate the information about those places to others. In this way, fewer people will visit, and it will be a real threat ofto the disappearance of indigenous culture, and it may prove counter-productive. For instance, in many art museums and art galleries, gifts are sold, and this practicething diminishes the value of that place, and a country’s reputation is also ruined among tourists. The classic example is Mera Pind in Amritsar, where visitors buy souvenirs and are less likely to revisit these placesvisit these places less after visiting for once.
On the other hand, cultural traditions can be kept alive only by displaying mementos from those placesdisplaying the moment of those places. This will be a source of income for the locals, but it will also help supportgenerate a nation’s economy. Indigenous people will represent their culture and other products to the foreign visitorsalien countrymen. In conclusion, selling symbols of cultural traditions is a good way to protect such traditions and boost the economy of a nation and for the native people, who work hardwho do hard toil to make products of their culture and sell them and indirectly help in spreading their culture.
