In an age when people are bombarded with information, advertisements are ubiquitous. Their influence on consumer decisions seems inevitable. However, some people argue that customers are less likely to be affected by commercials. I think this is mainly due to athe more cautious attitude among consumers and the widespread use of the Internet. In my opinion, this trend is broadly positivewe should applaud this development.

The first reason why consumers nowadays are less likely to be swayed by advertisements is that they have learned their lessons from repeated disappointment. In order to increase sales and generate higher revenue, companies often make exaggerated claims to promote their products. However, customers may soon discover the discrepancies between such claims and the actual itemscommodities. Disillusioned, those who bought into the promises will soon become more skeptical about commercials they come across in the future. As a result, they tend to approach products more cautiously, rather than basingOverall, they tend to approach the products more carefully and tend not to base their purchasing decisions solely on the statements of the manufacturers.

Another reason is that the availability of information these days makes it easy for consumers to make more informed decisions. Customers can easily check and compare prices of various items on the Internet and verify any detail of a product or a service. Reviews, ratings, and comments are readily accessible on different apps or platforms, which provide a vivid reflection of the items’ quality. Talking directly with people who have purchased the desired item or service is also possible. Therefore, consumers are not easily lured or duped into buying anything that seems untrustworthy.

That is why I believe it is a positive development. Being less influenced by advertisements means individuals are less likely to make impulsive purchases, saving substantial amounts of money onfrom unnecessary commodities for more pressing needs. For example, working parents who avoidavoided paying for an expensive gym membership may easily save up enough for a semester of tuition fees for their child. Another benefit is that it saves them the time and trouble of having to arguesaves them the time and trouble having to argue with the sellers over faulty goods or dealing with complicated return proceduresabout a malfunctioning device they purchased or go through the return procedures. That time can instead be spentThe time can be well spent with their loved ones.

For the reasons stated above, I believe that people are less influenced by advertisements and this shift ultimately benefits individuals and society alikethis is truly a development worthy of praise.
