The two tables compare the average weekly working hours of full-time and part-time male and female employees in Greece, the Netherlands, the UK, and across Europe as a whole in 2002.illustrate the average hours worked by part-time and full-time men and women in three European countries in 2002 and the European average.

Overall, the full-time workers in Greece worked the most hours among the Netherlands, the UK and the European averageavarage, while the full-time working hours in the UK were the lowest. Besides, the European average part-time working hours ranked the highest among the others.

Men with a full-time job in Greece worked the longest hourstime, at 42.5 hours. This figure was much higher than 38 hours in the Netherlands and 37.5 hours in the UK. MeanwhileBesides, the working hours for full-time workers in the UK, both men and women, were the lowest. Women there worked only 37 hours, 2.2 hours less than the European average.

Also, working hours for part-time workers in the UK were relatively low. Women worked only 28 hours, a substantial 6 hourssignificantly 6 hours less than the European average and more than 1 hour less than the figures for Greece and the Netherlands. Furthermore, the average number of hours for part-time male workers in the Netherlands was the lowest. It only stood at 28.3 hours, even 0.7 hours less than the figure for the UK. This wasAnd this was the only casecsae where men worked fewer hours than women.
