Therefore, the government can invest more funds in the research and development of advanced agricultural technology to boost the output of crops. For instance, hiring professionals and purchasing cutting-edge technology to develop genetic modification crops which have higher production and need little farmland. An increased supply of cropsIncreased supply of crops can lower food priceslower the prices of them, which can alleviate the financial pressure onof people from low-income families.

However, economic growth may cause serious environmental pollution from factories. Factories produce waste gas and wastewater in production. Some waste is discharged directly into rivers without treatment, polluting limited water resources and endangering fish and other aquatic life. Waste gas released into the air also harms human health and causes respiratory diseases.Besides, conventional petrol-powered vehiclestraditional petrol cars burn fossil fuels and release large amounts of carbon dioxide. This strengthens the greenhouse effect and raises global temperatures. More frequent extreme weather will threaten the survival of humans and animals. In my opinion, we need to develop the economy while protecting the environment to achieve sustainable development.

From my point of view, economic development is necessary to end poverty and hunger, yet we cannot ignore environmental damage. Governments and companies should pursue green growth. Only by balancing economic gains and environmental protection can we achieve long-term benefits for humans and wildlife.
