The flow chart depicts the sustainable production of ethanol, a typekind of biofuel, as well as its utilization. There are nine sequential stages in total, commencing with the cultivation of plants and trees, and culminating in the release and reabsorption of carbon dioxideculminating in the recycling of ethanol. This process can be dividedrecategorized into three major steps, namely the preparationpreparations of raw materials, physicalphycial breakdown, chemical treatment and the manufacturing, usage and recycling of ethanol. To begin with, plants and trees are cultivated and energy provided by sunlight and carbon dioxide stimulates their growthcan stimulate their growth. Once fully mature, the grown plants and treesorganic substances in trees and plants are harvested by people using tractorstrucks before being pre-processed into cellulose. Then, the cellulose undergoes chemical processingexperiences various chemical processing to extract sugars which are mixed with microbes to generate ethanol through the addition of microbesa process called fermentation. In the final stage,When it comes to the use of ethanol, it plays aan role in powering various modes of transportdriving diverse vehicles, such as private cars, trucks and aeroplanes. Subsequently, the combustion of ethanol releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphereinto atmosphere, which can be reabsorbed by plants and trees, forming a sustainable cyclecircle.

Overall assessment

Why this response received Band 7.0

The response provides a clear and well-structured overview of the ethanol production process, effectively identifying key stages from cultivation to energy usage. The main limitation is slight inaccuracy in describing the circular stage as the recycling of ethanol rather than carbon dioxide, alongside minor typographical errors. To improve, ensure precise technical accuracy when summarizing cycle stages and carefully proofread articles and spelling.

TA

Task Achievement

7.0
Scoring rule

The response covers all key stages of the process and provides a clear overview of its cyclical nature.

Next step

Clarify that the final cyclical stage involves the reabsorption of carbon dioxide by plants rather than the recycling of ethanol itself.

CC

Coherence and Cohesion

7.0
Scoring rule

Information is logically organized into paragraph blocks with clear sequential transition markers throughout the description.

Next step

Refine list structures in the overview section to make the division of stages cleaner and easier to follow.
