Why this response received Band 7.5
The response accurately selects and compares all the figures, with a clear overview and an especially effective contrast between the regional forest and timber shares. Its main limitation is occasional imprecision in referring to regions and percentages, alongside a small agreement error. The highest-priority improvement is to use exact geographical and statistical terms consistently while proofreading subject-verb agreement.
IELTS Writing Criteria Scores
Task Achievement
The response provides a clear overview and accurately reports every regional percentage with relevant comparisons.
Refine the overview by consistently describing North America as a region and the figures as proportions rather than amounts.
Coherence and Cohesion
Information is logically organised into focused paragraphs, and cohesive devices guide the reader smoothly through the two charts.
Maintain this clear structure while making the transition from the overview to the detailed figures even more concise.
Lexical Resource
Vocabulary is sufficiently varied and generally precise, though terms such as country and amount are inaccurate for regions and percentages.
Use consistently exact data-reporting language such as region, share, and proportion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
A good range of sentence structures is used accurately, with only occasional non-impeding errors such as Asian countries accounts.
Proofread subject-verb agreement and missing articles before finalising the response.
