Why this response received Band 8.0
The response presents the full process in a clear chronological sequence, supported by a concise overview and flexible, largely accurate language. Its main limitation is the unsupported claim that drying takes 10 hours, a detail absent from the diagram, alongside a few slightly awkward phrases. Prioritise strict visual accuracy by avoiding invented durations and using the diagram's process labels precisely.
IELTS Writing Criteria Scores
Task Achievement
All major stages are covered in the correct order with a clear overview, but the stated ten-hour drying duration is unsupported by the diagram.
Report only information shown in the visual and remove any unlabelled duration or other inferred detail.
Coherence and Cohesion
The overview and stage descriptions are sequenced naturally, with cohesive devices guiding the reader smoothly through the process.
Keep the strong chronological structure while making the overview's three-stage grouping more precisely parallel.
Lexical Resource
A wide and precise process vocabulary is used effectively, including 'shredded', 'strained', 'spun', and 'woven', with only slight awkwardness.
Refine less natural combinations such as 'preparation for plastic pieces' to 'preparation of the plastic pieces'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
A broad range of complex passive and subordinate structures is used accurately and flexibly, with only minor imperfections.
Maintain this control while tightening occasional long sentences so each process relationship remains maximally precise.
