Sample Response
Abortion is becoming more prevalent globally, making it one of the most contentious and divisive issues. While many people, including myself, believe that abortion should be legalized, others oppose it. In the following paragraphs, I shall discuss both views and elaborate on my viewpoint.
Those who oppose abortion legalization say that even in the early stages of pregnancy, life has begun to developlife is developed and that abortion would result in the killing ofresult in killing a human being. According to research, the fetus begins to grow as early as the first week of pregnancy. ForTo such advocates, abortion would thus imply the annihilation of an existing form of life. Additionally, they feel that abortion is the root cause of several health problems forin women. Some argue that carrying out this actionspewing this action is completely contrary to their cultureagainst our culture and should be prohibited in society.
However, others believe that abortion should be legalized, allowing women the right to choose. The pregnancy is sometimes the consequence of rape, and other times the womanlady is in an abusive relationship. In either instance, if a woman thinks she does not want the child, she should be able to terminate it. There has also been a rise in women who do not desire children overthroughout the years. So, only women who can raise their children in a healthy and loving atmosphere should give birth. Bringing a child into this world, knowing that one will be unable to provide it with a healthy and happy upbringing, is a greater crime than murdering it in the womb. Abortion should be allowed everywhere for these reasons.
In conclusion, abortion is a very contentious issue, with arguments both for and against it. Women, in my opinion, should have the freedom to terminate a pregnancy if they choose to do soterminate a pregnancy when they want.
Why this response received Band 7.5
The response addresses both perspectives, maintains a clear pro-choice position, and develops its arguments in a logical, readable structure. Its main limitation is that several claims, particularly about health effects and early fetal development, are asserted broadly rather than supported with careful reasoning. The highest-priority improvement is to replace general or emotive claims with more precise explanation and well-grounded examples.
