Sample Response
In the past, only a limited number of ways were availableonly limited ways were available to access information such as newspapers, magazines, and similar print medianewspaper, magazine and so on. In the modern eraIn modern scenario, with the passage of time and advances in technology, the useadvancement in technology use of electronic gadgets is increasing rapidly in order to access information. Despite this, it is agreed that in the foreseeable future print media will disappear and computers and mobile phonescomputer, mobile phones will be used by the massesby masses because computers providebecause computer provides fast, convenient accessservice as well as accurate information. Firstly, accessing information online is convenientprovides us comfort because peopleas masses can use it anywhere and at any timeat anyplace and anytime within a few secondswithin few seconds. For instance, today with the help of search engines such as Google and Bingsearch engine like Google, Bing and so on accessing information has become more convenient than in the pastmore convenient than the past. Individuals just need to enter a keyword in a search boxin search box about one particular object and allwhole the information will be in front of themin the front of their eyes within seconds like if anybody enters Apple iPhone into a Google search boxApple iPhon Google search box then all the detailswhole the detail of establishing apple company and products will be on their smartphone screen. Thus, this makes it clear that print media is not going to be operational anytime in the near future. Secondly, on print media getting latest information is slow rather than electronic devices. For example, a few months ago when Malaysian airplane was crashed then information about it was available on the same day on the internet as well as television but on print media, it was available after one day. Moreover, on Wikipedia individual can get information about past centuries and about every celebrity, which is tough to find in print media and showing information by Wikipedia is accurate and really tough to deny. In summary, electronic gadget helps masses to keep updated with the latest invention. Thus, it is a clear use of print media in order to access information is an idea that will not be realised anytime soon. It is predicted that print media will be replaced by these devices.
Why this response received Band 5.5
The response presents a consistent view that electronic sources will replace print and supports it with relevant points about convenience, speed, and breadth of access. However, the discussion becomes repetitive, some examples are asserted rather than analysed, and frequent language errors blur several claims. The most important improvement is to organise two distinct reasons, explain each carefully, and express the comparisons in shorter, grammatically controlled sentences.
IELTS Writing Criteria Scores
Task Response
The position is clear and relevant reasons are provided, though their development is uneven and occasionally repetitive or questionable.
Explain how each advantage removes the need for print, using one concise and credible example for each main point.
Coherence and Cohesion
Ideas follow a generally logical order, but paragraphing is absent and linking is sometimes mechanical or imprecise.
Divide the response into clear paragraphs and use topic sentences to distinguish convenience from speed and range of information.
Lexical Resource
There is enough vocabulary to discuss technology and information access, but frequent collocational and word-form errors limit accuracy.
Replace awkward phrases with precise expressions such as access information anywhere, obtain current news, and printed publications.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
A range of sentence forms is attempted, but frequent errors in articles, agreement, clauses, and comparison structures reduce control.
Use shorter sentence units and systematically check articles, singular-plural agreement, and comparative forms before adding complex clauses.
