Overall, we can see that the renovation will substantially expand the northern section of the airport into a Y-shaped concourse with more gates. While the external footprint of the main terminal changes minimally aside from a small eastern extension, significant internal amenities and additional entrances will be introduced.
Commencing with the current layout of the airport, in the south is the main terminal hall divided into two sections. The western section, used for departures, contains a check-in counter on the western side and a cafe on the eastern side, with the security passport control area located further north. The eastern part serves arrivals, where no special facilities lie in front of the passport control and customs sectionpassport control customs. A narrow corridor extends northwards from the terminal, with eight gates arranged along it and a walk way running through the centre.
After redevelopment, a larger Y-shaped concourse housing 18 gates will replace the original northern section, while the walkway will be demolished to make way for a sky trainto give way to / replaced by a sky train linking the terminal with the two branches. In the departures area, shops will be added just to the northjust the north of the security passport control. The check-in counter will relocate to the east while a cafe and bag-drop area occupy the westcafe and check-in counter will swap sides, and a bag-drop area will also be introduced. On the arrivals side, the southeastern corner will expand slightly eastwards to accommodate a car-hire facility, and a cafe alongside an ATM will be added.and a cafe and an ATM will be placed. Finally, additional entrances will be addedappended respectively for the departure side and the arrival side.
