Why this response received Band 6.5
The response is clearly organised and identifies the overall rise in visits as well as Japan and China as the largest and smallest sources. Its main limitation is uneven precision: the claim that visits doubled by 1985 is inaccurate, and several countries receive only vague treatment. The priority is to verify each plotted value and add concise, accurate comparisons across the middle-ranking origins.
IELTS Writing Criteria Scores
Task Achievement
The main trend, endpoint figures, and highest and lowest source countries are covered, but one line-graph comparison is inaccurate and several table categories are underdeveloped.
Correct the 1975-to-1985 change and compare Europe, Britain, and the USA with specific values rather than a vague shared-trend statement.
Coherence and Cohesion
Information is arranged sensibly into an overview, line-graph details, and table details, with generally clear progression.
Reduce repetitive references to visits to Australia and use accurate linking that shows addition rather than contrast between the two visuals.
Lexical Resource
There is enough range to describe trends and rankings, but collocational errors and overstatement reduce precision.
Replace expressions such as yearly tour, originality of the visitors, and skyrocketed with accurate academic graph vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
The response uses both simple and complex structures, although article, preposition, noun-form, and spacing errors occur regularly.
Edit numerical sentences for articles, spacing, and time prepositions, using forms such as 8.8 million and from 1985 to 1995.
