The bar graph gives information about the amount of water used by several industrial sectors in Somecountry. The figures are measured in millions of cubic metresmeters. Overall, groundwater useOverall, the amount of ground water usage was considerably larger than the amount of publicly supplied wateramount of water for public supply.
The chart showsIt is clearly seen that the chemical sector used the largestgreatest amounts of both ground water and that from the public supplyfrom public supply source, at 430 and 240 million cubic metreslitres, respectively. The water used by the metal industrywater usage by metal industry was the second highestaccounted for the second largest, with groundwater use at 240 and public-supply use at 90with ground water at 240, and public supply at 90. The food and drink sectorFood and drinks sector also used a relatively large amountspent a relatively significant amount of public supply water (190 million cubic metreslitres), which was larger than its amount of ground water usage by 80 million.
Turning to the sectors that used considerably smaller amounts of water, 190 million from ground water and 20 from public supply were consumed by the paper industry. Machinery sector used 100 from public and only 10 from ground water. The opposite trend was shown by both the fuel and textile industries, which usedboth fuel and textile industries, that used an insignificant amount of public supply water (just 10 million cubic metreslitres), yet their ground water consumption was 70 and 80 million cubic litres, respectively.
Why this response received Band 7.0
The report’s strongest feature is its broad, well-organised coverage: it identifies the main pattern and includes virtually every sector with accurate figures. Its main weakness is precision, especially the repeated substitution of cubic litres for cubic metres and several awkward constructions. The highest-priority improvement is to preserve the chart’s units exactly and use more natural comparison language when describing rankings and water use.
