Sample Response
It is true that online services now provide films, concerts and other forms of entertainmentfilms, concerts and forms of entertainment at low costat a low cost. While this development has reduced the need for people to visit theatres and cinemas, I believe these venuesplaces still have an important role in society and local economies.
On the one hand, watching entertainment online is more convenient for many people. A person can choose a film at any time, pause it and watch it without travelling or buying an expensive ticket. This is useful for parents, people living far from city centres, or those with limited free time. In addition, streaming platforms offer a wide selection, including programmes from other countries that may never be shown in a local cinema. For these reasons, it is understandable that some people see traditional venues as less necessary than before.
On the other hand, theatres and cinemas offer an experience that cannot be fully replicatedcopied on a small screen. Seeing a play performed live creates a direct connection between actors and the audience, and people enjoy sharing reactions with others in the same room. Cinemas can also show films with better sound and larger images than homes can provide. Culturally, local theatres support writers, performers and regional stories, which may be ignored by international streaming platformsinternational websites. If such venues were to disappearIf such venues disappeared, artists would have fewer opportunities to develop their careers.
They are also economically valuable. A popular performance or film can attract visitors who spend money in restaurants and shops and on transport servicesin restaurants, shops and transport services. Although some cinemas may need to change their business model, for example by offering special events, they can still contribute to a town's vitalitycontribute to the life of a town.
In conclusion, online entertainment is flexible and affordablecheap, so it will continue to grow. However, theatres and cinemas remain worthwhile because they provide shared cultural experiences and support both creative workers and local businesses.
Why this response received Band 8.0
The response is strongest in its balanced coverage and consistently clear position, supported by relevant cultural and economic reasoning. Its main limitation is that several points remain broadly explained rather than illustrated with especially specific evidence; the highest-priority improvement is to deepen one or two central ideas with more concrete, tightly analysed examples while preserving the concise structure.
