Overall, it can be seen that Africa contains the largest proportion of world forest, while Asia has the smallest percentagethe opposite is true for Asia. Additionally, South America has the highest timber percentage among the six regionsRussia has the largest percentage of timber out of all six regions. Furthermore, despite having the largest proportion of world forest, Africa has the lowest timber percentageAfrica contributes the lowest proportion of timber.
Regarding the first chart, the percentage of world forest is highest in Africa, at 27%, followed by Russia and North America, at exactly a quarter each. 18% of world forest is found in Europe, whilst forests in South America and Asia account for 16% and 14% respectively.
In terms of the second chart, South America has the highest timber percentage, at 33%33% of timber is found in Russia, slightly higher than North America's figure of 30%similar to that of North America, at 30%. Russia records 23%South America contains 23%, which is 3 percentage points higher than Europe's figure3% higher than the figure for Europe.
