Currently, the world is experiencing economic development, and many large cities areis becoming more crowded. Thus, some people claim that the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. In my opinion, this ideaideal has many benefitsbenefit, so I completely agree with this statement.
The first reason why I agree is that building tall apartment blocks can solve land. This is because tall apartments usually can provide more room for different families thanthat traditional houses. For example, a tall apartment usually has 15 floors, but a house is alwaysalways is a two-storey buildingdouble-deck building. Therefore, tall apartment blocks can solve land and those can be used forin other public buildings such as universities, hospitals and bus stations.
Another reasoncause is that tall apartment blocks can share land costs to improve housingroom affordability. This can be explained by the fact that tall apartments allow more rooms to share the costspending of the same land. As a result, the land cost per room ishas decreased. This point can be confirmed by the example of Tokyo where land is very expensive lead to many people have to buy tall apartment blocks to share high land costs.
Finally, tall apartments can use current public facilities to accommodate the needs of more residents. This is because that tall apartments in the CBDin CBD can take full advantage of existing public facilities such as metros, roads and schools. In contrast, building houses in the suburbs and outlying areasin suburbs and villages can result in a lack of public servicesservice so the government may need to invest more money in basic facilities.
In conclusion, I believe that the best way to solve housing problems of residents is building enough tall apartment blocks in large cities as it can help cities save land, usesolve land and using current public facilities and help people reducehelp people to decrease the cost of land.
