Conduct environmental talks in the school, that individual learns everything from childhood onwards in the school. I believed that it is every individual’s responsibility to solve the environmental problems, however, impossible for only one individual in the society. Why this response received Band 5.0
The response maintains a relevant central view that both governments and individuals must act, and it supplies several practical examples. However, the two requested views are only partially distinguished, ideas are repetitive, and the single-block structure combines with frequent sentence-level errors to weaken clarity. The highest priority is to organise the argument into clear paragraphs that separately explain each view, then support each with accurately formed sentences.
IELTS Writing Criteria Scores
Task Response
The response addresses both individual and government action and gives an opinion, but the opposing views are only partly explained and development is repetitive.
Explain why individuals alone may be insufficient and why government action still depends on collective participation before stating a reasoned opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion
The main message is traceable, but the lack of paragraphing and weak sequencing make the progression mechanical and occasionally confusing.
Use separate introduction, body, and conclusion paragraphs, with one clearly ordered central idea in each body paragraph.
Lexical Resource
The response has enough environmental vocabulary to convey its main points, but frequent inaccurate word choices and repetition limit precision.
Build control of natural collocations such as "industrial emissions," "household waste," and "raise public awareness."
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
Some sentence variety is attempted, but frequent fragments, agreement errors, and article or verb-form mistakes weaken accuracy.
Prioritise complete subject-verb sentences and check articles, agreement, and verb forms before attempting longer structures.
