Why this response received Band 6.0
The response offers a wide and relevant set of predictions across technology, medicine, politics, energy, space, and natural resources, and its conclusion captures the mixed outlook. The main limitation is that the essay reads as a numbered list of brief assertions rather than a developed argument; the priority is to choose fewer major changes and explain each through a concrete example, mechanism, or consequence.
IELTS Writing Criteria Scores
Task Response
The task is addressed with many relevant predictions, but most are only briefly stated and lack the requested examples or detailed support.
Develop three or four predictions fully by explaining why each change is likely and illustrating its probable effects.
Coherence and Cohesion
The response progresses logically from one prediction to another and uses clear paragraphs, though ordinal sequencing is mechanical and topic grouping is limited.
Group related predictions into thematic paragraphs and use logical relationships instead of relying mainly on numbered transitions.
Lexical Resource
The essay displays a fairly wide range of vocabulary for scientific, political, and social change, with several awkward or inaccurate combinations.
Use more natural collocations, such as life expectancy, ideological conflict, and exploration of outer space.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
A mix of simple and complex sentences communicates meaning clearly, but agreement, article, conditional, and clause-structure errors recur.
Check subject-verb agreement and hypothetical future forms, especially in longer sentences containing several coordinated clauses.
