Why this response received Band 6.0
The response successfully presents the main trends and provides a clear comparative structure across the four economic sectors. However, accuracy is compromised by inaccurate terminology such as referring to jobs as applications or working facilities, along with minor misreadings of the data values. Prioritize improving data precision and ensuring key economic vocabulary is used in the correct context.
IELTS Writing Criteria Scores
Task Achievement
Key trends and figures are identified and contrasted across the timeframe, though some data descriptions suffer from minor inaccuracies.
Ensure all figures are reported precisely from the graph and avoid confusing terms like job applications with actual job numbers.
Coherence and Cohesion
Information is arranged logically into distinct paragraphs with an overview, though transition phrases are occasionally mechanical or misused.
Use logical connectors like 'On the other hand' more accurately to contrast directly related comparative trends.
Lexical Resource
A range of task-relevant vocabulary is attempted, but inappropriate word choices such as 'working facilities' and 'regression' obscure precision.
Focus on precise lexical choices appropriate for task descriptions rather than substituting words with imprecise synonyms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
A mix of simple and complex sentence forms is produced, but grammatical errors in agreement, preposition use, and punctuation persist.
Review subject-verb agreement and prepositional phrases associated with time periods and dates.
